Howard Knott is an experienced logistics professional with a distinguished career spanning several decades. He has held key leadership roles in the Irish operations of prominent freight companies, including Norfreight, Containerships, and Lys Line. Throughout his career, Howard has demonstrated expertise in international freight management and operations.

Since 2006, Howard has served as a Logistics Consultant with the Irish Exporters Association (IEA), contributing his knowledge and expertise to various EU multimodal freight projects. In 2008, he established the IEA’s Rail Freight Group, with the goal of connecting exporters to gateway ports, starting with Ballina and Dublin. This initiative further solidified his commitment to enhancing logistics infrastructure and improving the flow of goods.

In addition to his professional achievements, Howard has been a respected columnist and maritime correspondent for “Fleet Transport” since 1991, sharing his insights on industry developments. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) and holds a Master’s degree in Economics and Political Science from Trinity College Dublin.

Outside of his professional work, Howard is also a passionate sailing enthusiast, further demonstrating his lifelong dedication to navigating both the seas and the complexities of logistics.
