Attendees at Coastlink 2024 enjoyed a technical visit tour of the Port of Amsterdam on day one of the conference, Wednesday 24th April.
Hosted by the Port of Amsterdam, delegates in attendance were able to gain an exclusive insight into the daily port operations of the fourth largest port in Northwest Europe.
The visit aboard the vessel ‘Het Wapen van Amsterdam’ included exclusive access to the 1,200 hectares port and showcase to delegates the port’s leading terminals and their pioneering approach to creating an ecosystem for renewable energies.
This included a visit to the TMA logistics terminal, home base to a range of leading short sea carriers including Samskip where delegates were able to see firsthand the innovative and vital intermodal connections provided by both the Port and terminal.
Delegates were also able to enjoy an evening drinks reception aboard, kindly sponsored by the Port of Amsterdam, providing an opportunity to network with fellow attendees and continue the discussions from the day.
Thank you to the Port of Amsterdam for arranging the tour and to Maurice Delattre, Area Manager at the Port of Amsterdam for providing the insight into the inner workings at the Port.
