GreenPort Congress & Cruise-077

Provisional programme now released for GreenPort Congress and Cruise 2024. Join leading professionals tackling key topics across the port sector including the latest on sustainable developments in ports at this year’s event in Le Havre, France.

The congress hosted by HAROPA PORT, will take place in Le Havre from 23-25 October 2024. The programme, chaired by Dr Chris Woolridge, offers a broad variety of presentations from key experts, companies and organisations in the port sector, addressing the pressing challenges of compliance, protection and sustainability within an ever-changing, evolving global and political landscape.

HAROPA PORT is at the forefront of tackling key issues in reducing emissions and infrastructure development and will be offering insights into their current projects across the programme. Stephane Raison, the Director General will join the panel for the Keynote presentation and Cedric Verciglio, Strategic Planning Director will present in the “Resourcing the Transition to Sustainability” session.

Over two days, the event will feature informative presentations, panel discussions, and active audience participation, culminating in a tour of Le Havre Port.

Speakers from long-time GreenPort Congress and Cruise supporters, Isabelle Ryckbost, Secretary General, ESPO; Antonis Michail, Technical Director IAPH & WPSP, IAPH and Lamia Kerdjoudj, Secretary General, FEPORT will offer their own unique perspectives on “Building a Sustainable Future: Priorities & Challenges for Meeting Net-Zero” - the keynote panel on the first day of the conference.

Case studies are a valuable element of the conference and feature across the Congress and Cruise streams of the two-day conference, including Port of Dover’s Megan Turner updating on their Green Corridor progress, and, in the Cruise stream, a presentation and discussion on Port Sustainability investments and projects in the Mediterranean ports by Valeria Mangiarotti, Marketing Manager, Port System Authority of the Sardinian Sea.

Not all ports are equal and at this year’s conference in Le Havre there will be fascinating insights into both the differences and similarities of inland and seaports, offering beneficial data to both sectors.

No conference on reducing emissions would be complete without discussion and debate on alternative fuel solutions and electrification is a key part of the GreenPort Congress and Cruise programme for 2024. Hervé Geraud, Onshore Power Supply Expert for HAROPA Port and Roland Teixeira MRICS 6σ, President, EOPSA will provide insights in this important area.
