Sponsors of Coastlink - the Port of Tyne – have been shortlisted as finalists in 2 categories at the Maritime UK Awards: Clean Maritime Operator; and Clean Maritime Enabler. The port has impressed industry judges with their contribution to the transition to zero emissions, and their work to support green innovation in the UK Maritime sector.
Matt Beeton, Chief Executive Officer at the Port of Tyne, said: “I’m delighted that the Port of Tyne is shortlisted in recognition of our Clean Energy initiatives. Sustainability is very close to our hearts, and Clean Energy is absolutely central to our Tyne 2050 strategy. Our vision is to be recognised as the safest, most environmentally focused port in the UK with an intentionally ambitious strategy fully aligned to the Government’s UK Maritime 2050 Strategy. Being named as a finalist in two Clean Maritime categories is testament to the work we are already doing to achieve that vision.”
