Two respected industry leaders have been added to the growing speaker line-up for this year’s Coastlink

 

Julien Daguerre, Vice President for Short Sea Shipping Logistics at CMA CGM, and James Evans, Head of Operations at Portsmouth International Port. Both bring valuable experience and insights to discussions on decarbonisation, operational growth, and the future of multimodal logistics.

Julien Daguerre: Championing Short Sea Shipping and Sustainable Supply Chains at CMA CGM

With 19 years of experience in the maritime sector—entirely within the CMA CGM Group—Julien Daguerre has built a distinguished career in shipping and logistics. Today, Julien serves as Vice President for Short Sea Shipping Logistics, leading CMA CGM’s operations in Northern Europe.

Julien’s focus lies in advancing sustainable multimodal logistics networks and optimising regional shipping operations, making him a key contributor to CMA CGM’s broader environmental and operational goals. His expertise and strategic leadership continue to shape the future of short sea shipping across Europe.

Julien will be speaking in the panel discussion titled “What Do Shippers Want?” which will explore greening the value chain and developing sustainable multimodal logistics networks.

The session features panellists including Stefan Krattiger, Business Development Leader Global Ports at IKEA Supply AG; Blasco Majorana, Line Manager at Finnlines; and Alexander Prahl, Head of Sales and Contracting Trademanagement at Tailwind Shipping Lines.

James Evans: Leading Port Operations and Green Innovation at Portsmouth

James

Joining the morning panel is James Evans, Head of Operations at Portsmouth International Port. James has built his career across all areas of port operations. In his current role, he is responsible for managing ferry and cruise operations, and delivery of high-quality shore-side services.

James also plays a central role in Portsmouth’s sustainability strategy. In 2023, the port secured funding for a transformational shore power project across its three busiest berths—positioning Portsmouth as a leading port for green infrastructure and maritime innovation.

James will join the panel discussion titled “Ops Expansion: How Do We Increase the Pace to Meet Demand?” taking place from 11:10 to 12:20. The session will be moderated by Norbert Grech, Senior Manager at the Ports and Yachting Directorate, Transport Malta.

Other panellists include Kaushik Jadhao, Marine Electrification BD Manager – EMEA at Shell; Kieran Morton, Business Development Manager at the Port of Aberdeen; and Tania Berry, Electrical Capability Lead at BMT.

These additions strengthen an already dynamic programme of discussion and debate, focusing on the urgent needs of operational growth and sustainable logistics across the maritime sector.
