Director General of the Spanish Shipowners Association to discuss short sea sector growth and the impacts on ports at Coastlink 2025.

Elena Seco, Director General of the Spanish Shipowners Association joins the Coastlink line-up in the opening session on 29 April focussed on The Renaissance of Short Sea Shipping, where she will share the latest market sector insights. With extensive maritime expertise, Elena also holds the roles of President of the Spanish Shortsea Promotion Center and is a Board Member of the European Shortsea Network.

Aligning with the key themes at Coastlink 2025, the Spanish Shortsea Promotion Center promotes competitive multimodal transport with a focus on identifying and addressing challenges affecting short sea competitiveness and encouraging strategic alliances in multimodal transport.Alongside her work at the Spanish Shipowners Association, Elena is involved in various maritime advisories and associations, including:

  • Board Member of the European Community Shipowners Associations (ECSA) and International Chamber of Shipping (ICS).
  • Member of Spain’s Permanent Observatory of Port Services and Intermodality Commission, Ministry of Transport.
  • Vice President of DNV GL Maritime – Spanish Advisory Council.
  • Member of Bureau Veritas – Iberian Technical Committee and Lloyd’s Register – Spanish Technical Committee.
  • Take the opportunity to meet with Elena and other key speakers across the ports and shipping sector including Peel Ports Group, Port of Bilbao, and Port of Moerdijk.

Coastlink takes place on 29-30 April 2025, and will be hosted by Bilbao Port Authority.
