A co-founder and director of NLA International, he advises on a wide range of maritime issues including the significant potential of the blue economy concept, the importance of spatial data infrastructures and hydrography for maritime economies, the evolution of eNavigation and GNSS vulnerability, near or real time situational awareness (especially that derived from space-based assets and applications), maritime connectivity and cyber security, human factors, and training and education in the maritime sector.

On confirming his position as chair, Nick Lambert said ‘The Coastlink conference series is well established and increasingly influential drawing on the support and expertise of its sponsors and community of delegates who know each other well and attend regularly. The result is valuable insight and knowledge sharing, lively debate and commercial opportunity. For 2025, Coastlink has caught the eye of partners further afield with next year’s event being hosted by the Port of Bilbao. Do join us for what will undoubtedly be a thought provoking discussion of the issues associated with Europe’s short sea and feeder shipping, and the intermodal transport networks supported by its many ports.’

Nick’s expertise will help bring to life the key themes for Coastlink 2025 in Bilbao, including:

  • The renaissance of short sea shipping – supporting sector growth and the impact on ports.
  • Expansion of green and digital corridors – showcasing the latest developments driving change.
  • What do shippers want? – Greening the value chain and developing sustainable multimodal logistics networks
