Courtesy of host sponsor Bilbao Port, delegates attending Coastlink in April will experience a tour of Port Santurzi.
Historically, the port facilities were based right in the centre of Bilbao. Nowadays the port facilities are some 15 km from Bilbao city centre and extend across 400 hectares of land.
Since the commencement of extension works in 1992, the Port Authority of Bilbao has invested over €500m euros to provide the port with new land and new berths.
Bilbao is a multipurpose port, and delegates will be able to see break bulk terminals, ro-ro and ferry terminals, solid bulk terminals, liquid bulk terminals and the industrial area whilst on the technical visit.
Taking place in the afternoon of Day 1 (29th April), the port tour is the perfect opportunity to see our host port in action, exemplifying the content shared over the 2 day conference and providing a unique insight into the day to day activities at one of Spain’s leading ports.
This year’s technical visit will include:
15:30h – Transfer by bus from the Itsasmuseum, Bilbao to the Port (Santurzi).
16:00h – Insight and tour of the port facilities by bus.
17:30h – Return to Bilbao.
18:00 – 19:00h, free time in Bilbao prior to the networking dinner and reception at San Mames Stadium!*
The technical visit is included in the Standard Delegate Rate, along with conference attendance and lunch and refreshments on both days.
