Shipping firms continue to avoid Red Sea

Maersk, Hapag-Lloyd and others are rerouting container ships as the Red Sea crisis continues

Global trade continues to be disrupted as shipping companies pause transits through the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden in response to attacks by Houthi rebels.

Denmark’s Maersk and Germany’s Hapag-Lloyd said on Tuesday that their container ships would continue to avoid the Red Sea route after a Maersk vessel came under attack at the weekend.
