Embracing reefer trade

Chile and Peru are key players in the global reefer market, driven by their agricultural diversity and favorable climates. Together, they export a wide range of perishable goods, including fruits, vegetables, and seafood, to international markets. Chile has a strong export industry, particularly in fruits, while Peru is seeing rapid growth, especially in avocados and grapes.

However, both countries face challenges in developing infrastructure to meet increasing demand. Continued investment in port facilities and cold chain infrastructure will be crucial to maintain their positions in the reefer trade, which is expected to grow significantly in the coming years.
