The Repauno Port & Rail Terminal, situated directly along the Delaware River in Gibbstown, NJ, finds itself in the heart of one of the most active maritime markets in the US.
This strategically located site, boasts numerous logistical advantages and is currently undertaking a large refurbishment project to transform it into a multipurpose facility, capable of handling a wide range of cargo types, including roll-on/roll-off and bulk cargo. As an important part of the project, a new dock is under construction featuring a generous 40-foot draft that will allow the transfer of a broad range of products promising the port a prosperous trading future.
Working in close partnership with the contractor awarded with the construction of the new infrastructure, SFT has successfully designed and delivered a customized solution to provide safe berthing for the variety of vessels expected at the facility. The new dock now is equipped with 15 SPC Cone Fender Systems (1600, G2.2) with closed box panels (of two different sizes) pre-fitted with UHMW-PE pads and 13 T-head Bollards (200t).
During the design process, SFT’s in-house engineering team studied the details of the multipurpose terminal, with special emphasis on the standoff distance to ensure that the Ro-Ro ramps would reach the dock without any impediments.
We take good pride in our contribution to this project which has created, to date, more than $275 million in investments. This impressive sum is just an evidence of the project significance, considering that more than 40% of the U.S. population can be reached from the new terminal within a single day’s truck drive. We look forward to many more successful ventures like it.
