Valenciaport launches 5G network project

Valenciaport is embarking on an ambitious project to develop its own 5G network, designed to operate independently of external operators and enhance the port’s digital capabilities

With over 25,000 devices expected to be connected, including phones, vehicles, drones, surveillance cameras and environmental sensors, the network is set to be a pivotal tool in the port’s evolution into a Smart Port or Port 4.0.

The 5G network will use n40 frequencies, ensuring privacy and security within the port, with customised controls over connected devices.
