HHLA deploys 5G network at Altenwerder

Hamburger Hafen und Logistik is set to establish a 5G network at its Container Terminal Altenwerder as part of the German government’s ‘DigiTest’ pilot

This initiative aims to create a digital testing ground on the terminal site to trial new application scenarios and enhance logistics processes.

With funding of approximately €2.3 million, the project is set to run until mid-2026. It is part of the broader ‘Digitale Testfelder in Häfen’ initiative, sponsored by TÜV Rheinland.
