US welcomes increased dredging funding

On the move: US West Coast ports are set to see an increase in cargo flow in May

The American Association of Port Authorities has welcomed changes to a bill which will now see dredging at ports funded to a greater depth

The final draft of the Thomas R. Carper Water Resources Development Act of 2024 comes after several months of discussions reconciling the differences between the House version passed in July and the Senate version passed in August.

The most significant provision in the WRDA bill affecting ports changes the depth threshold for Army Corps of Engineers-funded dredging projects.
