The Port of Barcelona has awarded a €72,359,045.87 contract for the construction of the embankment for the new Catalunya wharf to the joint venture Sacyr Construcción – José Antonio Romero Polo

The works, which are scheduled to take 27 months, will involve building a sea embankment that will serve as the first enclosure for depositing materials from the dredging of the port’s docks, the navigation channel, and other ongoing projects, including the Adossat wharf and the new mooring points at the Energy wharf.

This embankment will delineate an area of 44.7 hectares between the South and Prat wharves and will reach depths of up to 16 metres.
