In a contentious legal battle surrounding Durban Container Terminal 2, APM Terminals (APMT) has temporarily halted the award to International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI).

APMT claims ICTSI failed a solvency test, while ICTSI counters that APMT is irrationally challenging its financial capacity. As the legal dispute unfolds, ICTSI’s CEO warns that APMT aims to undermine potential competition, potentially jeopardizing South Africa’s economic interests and the terminal’s operational efficiency.

The concession process, nearing its third year, now faces further delay.
