The Green Ports & Shipping Congress will identify and prioritise the areas that ports-based organisations and shipping companies need to collaborate on to reduce emissions. Coastlink is a neutral pan-European network dedicated to the promotion of short sea and feeder shipping, and the intermodal transport networks through the ports that support the sector. It is a place for industry professionals to meet and discuss future innovation, economic and environmental considerations – and develop partnerships that will help build a sustainable future. Duke Point Terminal expansion begins
DP World has broken ground in the Duke Point Terminal expansion, which aims to significantly enhance Vancouver Island’s global trade capabilities
With support from Snuneymuxw First Nation and the Port of Nanaimo, DP World’s Duke Point Terminal project will see the terminal’s berth length nearly double to 325 metres and increase cargo-handling capacity to 280,000 teu per year.
The expansion will also establish a short-sea shipping connection between Nanaimo and Vancouver, improving trade routes to key Asian markets.
