Dredging and reclamation deal at Vadhavan Port

A joint venture between Jan De Nul and DEME has inked a deal with ITD Cementation, an Indian engineering and construction company, for dredging and reclamation works at Vadhavan Port, located on India’s west coast in Maharashtra

The project involves nearshore reclamation and shore protection for the greenfield port, which will span 200 hectares.

This reclamation will support the construction of breakbulk and liquid cargo handling facilities, a key part of the Indian government’s plan to position Vadhavan as one of the world’s top ten container ports by 2040.
