Morocco is expanding its port infrastructure with the development of Nador West Med, aiming to replicate the success of Tanger Med. MSC and CMA CGM will each equip and operate half of the new East Container Terminal (ECT/TC1) under a joint venture with Marsa Maroc, which secured a 25-year concession in 2024. With operations set to begin in 2027, the terminal will enhance the region’s role in global trade. Plans for a second, smaller container terminal (WCT/TC2) are also in discussion, signaling Morocco’s commitment to strengthening its position as a key maritime hub.
