LA invites bids to build new cruise terminal

The Port of Los Angeles is pushing ahead on plans to build a new cruise terminal and redevelop its existing one

The port authority has issued a request for proposals, inviting bids for the construction/redevelopment and operation of both, with a long-term lease of up to 66 years on offer.

The cruise industry is a big income generator for the area, with each ship creating more than US$1 million in local economic activity.
