Konecranes places the emphasis on digital

Digital services include TRUCONNECT Remote Monitoring to collect usage data, CheckApp for daily inspections and access to the yourKONECRANES customer portal. The aim is to have each asset in the fleet in view in any place at any time, making management and maintenance easier.

Real-time operations

He pointed out that all operational data is now collected and stored together in one place for customers. Available 24/7, this information helps plan maintenance and optimise asset deployment.

Mr Rahman said that Konecranes APIs seamlessly integrate into existing systems, so installation is made simple and training is minimal.

TRUCONNECT Remote Monitoring collects data on safety alerts, fuel consumption, carbon emissions, battery performance and many other variables for near real-time diagnostics and technical support. CheckApp is a mobile inspection tool that guides equipment operators through daily inspections using a phone or tablet. 

Konecranes STORE synchronises with customer equipment needs to facilitate spare parts ordering and minimise lead times.

In addition to strengthening its digital offering, Konecranes has also strengthened its port services presence with the acquisition of the German company Kocks Kranbau giving it access to new European and global customers.

Kocks Kranbau was established early 2023 following the insolvency of parent company Kocks Ardelt Kranbau GmbH, a well-established port and shipyard crane manufacturer. Kocks Kranbau’s main operations are based in Bremen, Hamburg and Oberhausen.

In recent years the annual net sales of the acquired business have totaled around €10-12 million and the business has been profitable.

The acquisition will bring close to 60 employees to Konecranes and give it access to the large installed base of Kocks Ardelt Kranbau in Germany, Europe and globally.
