GreenPort Congress and Cruise 2024 – balancing environmental challenges with economic demands - will continue to provide the latest updates and forum for discussing recent developments in sustainable environmental practices. 

Taking place from 23 – 25 October 2024, GreenPort Congress and Cruise 2024 will be hosted in Le Havre by HAROPA PORT – France’s leading port for foreign trade and the 4th largest port in Northern Europe. 

As ports face a future of constant and dynamic transition towards decarbonisation and sustainability, GreenPort Congress and Cruise promotes industry collaboration, shared practice, and innovative developments. 

Following the successful event in Lisbon in 2023, we now invite interested speakers to put forward their abstract submissions for this year’s event. During the 2-day conference, the session topics & panel discussions will include: 

  • Infrastructure development for multimodal services – adaptations needed to meet decarbonisation goals and address ecological transitions for logistics and supply chains   

  • New Technology – which innovations will derive real costs benefits in the transition to sustainability; AI, Digitisation, Optimisation software.  

  • Electrification of ports, cruise terminals and equipment – latest developments and challenges 

  • Green fuel transition for ports and cruise terminals – reviewing the progress towards 2050.  

  • Financing decarbonisation  - latest initiatives to put the transition at the heart of port finance models  

  • Green Corridors - update on recent developments and case studies 

  • Port and cruise terminal expansion, linking ports, cities and hinterlands – considering the impact on the wider communities 

  • Resourcing the transition to sustainability – Are all ports equal? Seaports v Inland and the need for international collaboration between ports, enabling practicable implementation options for compliance, cost/risk reduction, environmental protection, and sustainability.  

  • The role of “Smart Ports” - exploring the emerging initiatives including green energy carriers in and around ports; alternative fuel supply chains; co-ordination with other transport and its providers 

  • Renewable energy – latest projects contributing to port growth 

Abstracts should be approximately 250 – 300 words and submissions should include a biography and headshot photo of the Speaker. Application case studies between ports and suppliers are of high priority and will be given precedence.

GreenPort Congress and Cruise is specifically organised to bring together the full range of port professionals and stakeholders involved in environmental management including environmental managers and planners, harbour masters, logistics managers, energy managers as well as sustainability and corporate social responsibility executives from ports, terminal operators, shipping lines, shippers, and logistics companies.  

This 19th event in the series will again concentrate on practicable solutions to address legislative and policy requirements.  Green Port Congress and Cruise delivers knowledge sharing through collaboration to address environmental targets and sustainable development.
