The “dark” fleet a ticking timebomb that needs to be addressed

European Parliamentarians have urged the EU to impose “targeted” sanctions on Russia’s “dark” fleet, aging tankers circumventing sanctions. A resolution calls for sanctions on individual ships and increased surveillance.

This aims to cut funding for Russia’s war in Ukraine and mitigate environmental disaster risks from unregulated operations and oil spills.
