The cost of green ammonia infrastructure

A JDP will study using ammonia as a marine fuel in Singapore

Providing the necessary infrastructure to move the global shipping fleet to using green ammonia as a fuel will cost around US$2 trillion, according to a new study

In their paper ‘Optimal fuel supply of green ammonia to decarbonise global shipping’ researchers at Oxford University say that the demand for green ammonia might outstrip that for current grey ammonia by up to 300%, resulting in both challenges and opportunities.
