Coastlink is a neutral pan-European network dedicated to the promotion of short sea and feeder shipping, and the intermodal transport networks through the ports that support the sector. Svitzer’s industry first electric-methanol tug
Svitzer has signed a contract with Uzmar shipyard to construct what it calls the world’s first battery-electric methanol-powered tug.
The ground-breaking port vessel will feature a 6MWh battery and dual-fuel methanol engines for range extension, offering zero-emission services for up to 25% of Svitzer’s operations in Gothenburg.
