Singapore launches first fully electric hydrofoil

The Port of Singapore has played host to the launch of the region’s first fully electric hydrofoil vessel

Designed and built by Singapore-based Yinson GreenTech in collaboration with Lift Ocean and Zeabuz, the Hydroglyder promises to offer a ‘more efficient and sustainable alternative to traditional fossil-fuel-powered boats’ for crew transfer and passenger transport.

By using a hydrofoil system, the ship lifts its hull to ‘fly’ above the water, reducing drag and improving energy efficiency.
