DP World has secured a €50 million loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development to help finance electrification of its Constanta South Container Terminal in Romania

The total project cost is estimated at €200 million, which will be co-financed alongside the EU under its Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Facility Programme. Additional funding may come from other EU sources.

Work to electrify the port – a first for Romania – will include new electrical networks, transformer points and railway lines alongside electrical vehicles and charging stations.
