The Green Ports & Shipping Congress will identify and prioritise the areas that ports-based organisations and shipping companies need to collaborate on to reduce emissions. Coastlink is a neutral pan-European network dedicated to the promotion of short sea and feeder shipping, and the intermodal transport networks through the ports that support the sector. It is a place for industry professionals to meet and discuss future innovation, economic and environmental considerations – and develop partnerships that will help build a sustainable future. Meeting Egypt’s demand for green methanol
AD Ports, container shipping line and terminal operator Transmar, and Orascom Construction have joined forces to develop a green methanol storage and export facility in Egypt.
It is predicted that more than 100 methanol-fuelled ships will be in service from 2026, representing around a million tonnes of additional methanol demand.
According to maritime consultancy Drewry and Clarksons, the methanol-fuelled vessel fleet will grow from 2% to 14% of the global fleet based on orders already placed.
