Maltese first in shore power technology

Malta has launched shore power technology in the Grand Harbour, becoming the first port in the Mediterranean to connect cruise liners to the local electric grid.

The new system allows up to five cruise liners to draw power from the grid simultaneously, significantly reducing pollution for approximately 17,000 residents around the harbour by 90% by 2030.
