Lloyd’s Register and Samsung Heavy Industries are teaming up to develop a floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) system for the production of green ammonia

This marks a significant step in the application of FPSO technology, traditionally used in oil and gas, for the ammonia industry.

The system will use renewable energy to power the electrolysis of seawater, producing green hydrogen, which will then be combined with nitrogen to create green ammonia.
