London Gateway leads the way in port electrification

The first ships have arrived at London Gateway’s new GB£350 million all-electric fourth berth, marking a milestone in port construction and port electrification in the UK.

With the arrival of the MSC Sena, the berth began operations using an innovative fleet of fully electric vehicles and equipment.

This includes four of Europe’s largest quay cranes, electric straddle carriers, and automated stacking cranes, setting a new standard for low-carbon port operations.
