Hydrogen hub planned at Açu Port

Norwegian company Fuella has inked a deal with Prumo Logistica to create a hydrogen hub at the Port of Açu in Brazil

The agreement will see Fuella build a green ammonia plant with a 520 MW capacity using the electrolysis process. The unit will have the potential to produce 400,000 tons of green ammonia per year for export through the Açu Liquid Terminal.

The chief executive of Prumo Logística, Rogério Zampronha, said the project was critical to helping ‘hard-to-abate’ sectors such as the steel industry and fertiliser chain reduce their carbon emissions.
