Germany’s first all-electric ferry to break new ground

Damen Shipyards has handed over Germany’s first electric ferry, marking a major step forward for sustainability and the electrification of passenger transport.

The E-Kat ferry was delivered to AG Reederei Norden-Frisia on 15 January, paving the way for a greener future in Germany’s maritime industry.
