EPA invests US$3 billion in US ports

The US Environmental Protection Agency has pledged nearly US$3 billion in funding to help ports across the country in their decarbonisation efforts

The Clean Ports Program will help 55 ports across 27 states deploy zero emission equipment, implement infrastructure and develop air quality improvement projects.

Funded through Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act, it is hoped the investment will fund initiatives that collectively reduce more than 3 million tonnes of carbon pollution, equivalent to 391,220 homes’ energy use for one year.
