Coastlink is a neutral pan-European network dedicated to the promotion of short sea and feeder shipping, and the intermodal transport networks through the ports that support the sector. It is a place for industry professionals to meet and discuss future innovation, economic and environmental considerations – and develop partnerships that will help build a sustainable future. DNV releases alternative fuel safety insights
DNV has released a new white paper exploring the challenges posed by the use of ammonia and hydrogen as marine fuels
The classification society’s ‘Safe introduction of alternative fuels – Focus on ammonia and hydrogen as ship fuels’ provides shipowners with insights and tools to safely implement these fuels.
Both are emerging as viable options in the drive to decarbonise, but the absence mandatory regulations governing their use presents a serious risk and is a barrier to widespread adoption, says DNV.
