HHLA Container Terminal Burchardkai (CTB) in Hamburg is pushing forward with port electrification and automation, expanding its capacity and cutting emissions with state-of-the-art port equipment.

Since late 2024, three new automated storage blocks have been integrated into terminal operations. Each block is served by three electric cranes powered entirely by renewable energy, helping lower CO2 emissions and bringing CTB closer to its goal of becoming climate-neutral by 2040.
