The GreenPort Congress and GreenPort Cruise Conference have once more been hailed an unreserved success. With nearly 200 delegates attending from all over the world the congress and one day conference, combined with hot topics and industry leading speakers, provided something for everyone involved in the whole port community.

The aim of the congress and conference was to provide delegates with the perfect platform for the exchange of information on the latest in sustainable environmental practice in order to help reduce their carbon foot prints whilst becoming more sensitive to the environmental considerations.

Nearly 200 attendees from 30 countries from port authorities, terminal operators, shipping lines, equipment suppliers, NGOs, industry associations and other members of the port community were all privy to insightful information from industry experts around the environmental challenges facing ports and cruise terminals across the world - especially with the sulphur directive coming into force in 2015, the review of the port waste reception directive, the near certain implementation of the ballast water convention, the air quality review and the onshore power supply versus the use of LNG at cruise terminals.

The GreenPort Congress and GreenPort Cruise Conference enjoy the support of ESPO, Feport, PEMA, EcoPorts, Euroshore, Assoporti, EFIP, MedCruise, Cruise Europe and CLIA, most of whom sent representatives to the event.
