Release of Antwerp Port Authority''s Sustainability Report, WPCI LNG Working Group Meeting, ESPO Sustainable Development Committee Meeting and NABU Clear Air in Ports Meeting will all take place prior to the GreenPort Congress!
Hosted by the Port of Antwerp on 9-11 October 2013, the GreenPort Congress is unique as it is the only event that concentrates purely on environmental issues in ports and terminals but which also facilitates a great networking environment. The format of the programme is designed to facilitate discussion between all parties at the event, as well as having the opportunity to learn from the presentations given.
With the added draw of the other events taking place during Antwerp Green Week, the GreenPort Congress is the one event when represenatives from all these events will come together to knowledge share, discuss and debate the pertinent issues affecting maritime ports and terminals today.
Developed by members of the ESPO SDC and following the themes of the ESPO Green Guide – Exemplify, Enable, Engage, Encourage and Enforce - each session will start with two plenary keynote speeches; an overview and a state of play presentation. The session will then breakdown into three working groups which will involve all sectors of the port community.
Managing dust for bulk handling, Sulphur free fuel for port authority vessels, Rail freight: closer to your needs, Noise zoning in Ports, Ship recycling, Waste management in ports, Engaging in industrial Ecology, OPS - invest or not?, Environmental Shipping Index, Environmentally differentiated port dues.... Just some of the papers to be given at this year's GreenPort Congress.
