..and reports success for medium-weight FLTs
Nearly two years on from its introduction, Kalmar is reporting success with its medium-weight FLT range offering capacities of between nine and 18 tonnes. Greater service intervals, enhanced availability and operating costs 15% lower than other models are all claimed by Kalmar in the light of operational experience. Further, the company states that machines equipped with Optirev, which enables the engine to work at optimum revolutions, record a 10% reduction in fuel consumption.
Tideworks is to install its Mainsail Terminal Management System and Spinnaker Planning Management System at the terminal – integrated terminal operating and planning software solutions for marine terminals, intermodal yards and container depots.
And Kalmar is convinced that the perceived benefits of its medium weight FLT range – used extensively in port applications – are growing rapidly. It points out that orders for units in the first half of 2004 increased by some 25% over the year before, the first year of the new range’s introduction.
